Angela, the Managing Director, is married to Eric from Hong Kong. Angela worked in Hong Kong as a teacher and speaks Cantonese and a little Mandarin.
When they moved to England in 1988, they began to act as Guardians for friends’ and family’s children. In 1998 Angela decided to set up the business and as it was so successful she gave up her job as a college teacher to concentrate on being a Guardian.
Study Links International now employs 5 people in the office, who are all family friends. They really do help people in a most caring and practical way as a team to ensure overseas families receive an excellent service.
Angela’s family is very much involved too: Eric and their 3 children often meet students and arrange free time activities with them. As their son and 2 daughters are a similar age to many of the students this works very well.
Angela and Eric are very special people – you get to know that very early on after meeting them. They really will go that extra mile to help people in a very caring and practical way.
